چکیده
Malignant melanoma (MM) is in the background of majority skin cancer-related mortality. On other hand, seborrheic keratosis (SK) a common benign lesion that certain cases can mimic MM. In this work, we utilized multispectral imaging device prototype with LED illumination to differentiate MM from SK, use 405 nm autofluorescence and 525 660 diffuse reflectance imaging. Intensity descriptors captured images were analyzed, including ratios, standard deviation minimum maximum intensity values lesions investigated channels. Particle analysis was performed assess characteristic patterns lesions. Significantly higher found SKs compared MMs, especially on images. addition, significantly more particles high fluorescence SK Based these results, created novel algorithm provides parameter, index, distinguish sensitivity 91.9% specificity 57.0%. our findings, may be introduced clinical practice as screening method based assessment

Dermatoscopic Findings of Seborrheic Keratosis in Melanoma.
Cutaneous melanoma may in some instances be confused with seborrheic keratosis, which is a very common neoplasia, more often mistaken for actinic keratosis and verruca vulgaris. Melanoma may clinically resemble seborrheic keratosis and should be considered as its possible clinical simulator. We report a case of melanoma with dermatoscopic characteristics of seborrheic keratosis and emphasize th...
متن کاملMelanoma in-situ arising in seborrheic keratosis: a case report
BACKGROUND Seborrheic keratosis is a very common benign skin tumor in man. Melanoma is rare but is the most dreaded of all malignant skin tumors. A melanoma arising in a seborrheic keratosis is distinctly rare. We are reporting such a case occurring in an 86-year-old man. CASE PRESENTATION An-86-year-old male with a history of multiple actinic keratoses and seborrheic keratoses of the head an...
متن کاملRegressing seborrheic keratosis - clinically and dermoscopically mimicking a regressing melanoma.
The diagnosis of seborrheic keratosis is a clinical diagnosis. In a certain percentage of cases, differential diagnosis between seborrheic keratosis and malignant melanoma is difficult. We describe a case of regressing seborrheic keratosis simulating malignant melanoma. Clinical, dermoscopic and histopathologic examinations were performed for the occurrence of an asymmetric, irregularly demarca...

A 58 year old man was referred to suegery clinic due to dyspnea and left sided chest wall pain for three months duration.during the last 18 months some monomorph disseminated hyperkeratotic skin lesions appeared on his face and trunk.after worlup and evaluation of the patient,he underwent thoracotomy with indication of presence of a mass in the left lung.the operative finding was a huge solid r...
متن کاملDermatofibroma simulating seborrheic keratosis dermoscopically*
Dermatofibroma is a frequent benign tumor of easy clinical diagnosis in most cases, but that can mimic other dermatoses. Dermoscopy may help to define the diagnosis and its classical pattern is a central white area, similar to a scar, surrounded by a discrete pigment network. However, dermoscopic findings are not always typical. We describe here a case of dermatofibroma exhibiting ridges, furro...
